The Orchard Park Thunder is the premier travel basketball program in the region!
Travel teams are separate from House teams. If you choose to tryout for a travel team, you need to register on the site for the appropriate grade level. Even if there are multiple options, please choose the exact grade that your child is in. We may choose to move some kids up a level but we need everyone to enter the grade level of the child so we can organize it properly.
Travel will consist of high level practices and games. Typically there will be one team practice per week as well as a team training session with Darren Fenn of XGen, on a weeknight or weekend. We will begin playing games and tourneys once we get clearance. By committing to playing Travel, you need to be able to make 90% or more of the practices and games. Although we understand that families' schedules are demanding, it will only hurt your child and especially the team if you do not make most of the scheduled practices and games.
The plan for the 2020-2021 season is to have tryouts then do weekly practices consisting of drills, etc. No games or scrimmages until we get the green light from NYS. If you register for Travel tryouts, you son will tryout for their respective team (based on their grade) and if they make a team, you will then be charged the Travel Fee. Modified and JV boys players are encouraged to tryout for travel teams - we can work around your schedules and you do not have to play House.
Travel Fee for 2020-2021 will be $275. This includes practice jersey, gym fees, team equipment and league registration. Tournaments, games, game uniforms etc will be an extra charge down the road if we get to play in any.
